Missions - Trip to Midrand and Pretoria South Africa

Victory

Team Victory (17 members) left Detroit on an historic date, November 4, 2008, election day, a day of change. Our team’s mission was one of change, and as God brought new leadership to the USA, the Holy Spirit brought eternal change in Midrand, and Pretoria, South Africa.

Arnoldine Lancaster, Joyce Hunt, and I completed the prison ministry team. We joined with Prison Fellowship, South Africa, with the Area Commissioner of Correctional Services of South Africa, Walter Mashiya, and the Chaplain of Spiritual Care, Reverend Jordan Ngondo, in providing spiritual service to the incarcerated youth (ages 14-25), and men in medium security at Leeuwkop Correctional Services. The Lord was praised because we returned as we had promised back in February, 2008. The Lord has opened this door, and we pray our next return will be in January, 2009. Books and gifts were donated to the correctional facility and to Prison Fellowship, by BSJ Christian Seminars.

The mission outreach included assisting and supporting the guilting ministry, humanitarian efforts providing toiletries, clothes, and school supplies to over 100 youth and 50 plus adults. Medical services included screening for high blood, and diabetes, and providing education regarding HIV/ aids.

Worship and deliverance services were a solid foundation of outreach efforts, which also included house to house spreading of the gospel.

Land for a Center of Hope was consecrated, and a donation to start the building process was provided. This center is a facility of the Church to be used for orphaned children to prevent them being thrown away or aborted.

This was an awesome experience.

The team returned home safely on November 13, 2008. Praise God!!!
